Credit note instead of refund for defective shoes? Court orders Rs 15,000 payout
A consumer commission in Haridwar has ordered an online footwear retailer to refund Rs 3,606 for two defective pairs of Red Chief shoes. The company's refusal to provide a cash refund, instead issuing a credit note, was deemed a deficiency in service.
The customer will also receive Rs 15,000 in compensation and litigation costs, totaling Rs 18,606, for the faulty products and subsequent dispute.
