The Los Angeles Lakers would reportedly pursue a sign-and-trade sending LeBron James to the Cleveland Cavaliers for center Jarrett Allen, ESPN's Brian Windhorst said June 24, 2026 on ESPN Cleveland radio. James, an unrestricted free agent carrying a roughly $59.5 million cap hold, made $52.6 million last season.

The proposal has gained traction because Allen would address the Lakers' long-standing need at center while complementing Luka Doncic and newly re-signed Austin Reaves.
