Panthers target Samuel Ersson as Bobrovsky's Florida exit nears reality
The Florida Panthers are exploring a trade for Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Samuel Ersson as the likelihood of re-signing Sergei Bobrovsky continues to fade. With both Bobrovsky and Daniil Tarasov set to hit unrestricted free agency, Florida is left without a goalie under contract.
Ersson, 26, had a tough season with Philadelphia but could arrive cheaply as a buy-low candidate. NHL insider Elliotte Friedman flagged the potential interest, with Toronto unlikely to keep Ersson given their existing goaltending depth.
