A Chinese businessman, Guo Wengui, once a member of Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago club, has received a 30-year prison sentence in the US. Prosecutors revealed he orchestrated a billion-dollar cryptocurrency and investment fraud, targeting his online followers.

The court ordered him to forfeit nearly $889 million, finding he exploited supporters of his anti-CCP movement to fund a lavish lifestyle. Guo denies wrongdoing and plans to appeal.
