India is bolstering its air defence with the Defence Acquisition Council's approval for new weapon systems. The Medium Range Surface-to-Air Missile (MR-SAM), Very Short Range Air Defence System (V-SHORADS), and Akash Tarang Anti-UAV Electronic Warfare System will enhance protection against drones, missiles, and aircraft.

These acquisitions are crucial for the upcoming nationwide integrated air defence network, Sudarshan Chakra, building on lessons learned during Operation Sindoor.
