National Council of Educational Research and Training NCERT has cautioned against circulation of pirated and unauthorised textbooks in print and digital formats across online platforms in India. A fake Class IX Social Science textbook titled Understanding Society India Beyond is being shared on social media, websites and groups.

NCERT has advised stakeholders to rely only on official sources including its website ePathshala and authorised vendors, while announcing legal action under Copyright Act 1957 against offenders.
