Following a report suggesting the wedding plans, Aamir Khan publicly confirmed the news to Variety India, stating that the marriage will take place on July 5. The actor has been dating Gauri Spratt, a Bengaluru-based professional in the wellness and beauty industry, and introduced her to the media during his 60th birthday celebrations in March of this year.

In explaining the decision to formalize their relationship, Khan noted a shift from his earlier stance on marriage. Previously, he had indicated that tying the knot was not an immediate priority as he and Gauri were content living together in their newly acquired home. However, he stated, "Yes, that is true. But now we both feel we are ready to take our relationship to the next level."

The actor described his current life phase as one of contentment and emotional stability. "I am at peace. Gauri and I are serious about each other and we are in a very committed space. We are partners, we are together. In my heart, I'm already married to her. So, to formalize our togetherness just seems like a natural progression of our partnership," Khan said.

According to Khan, he and Gauri had known each other for years before reconnecting later in life and gradually developing a deeper bond away from the spotlight. Since publicly acknowledging their relationship, the couple has made several public appearances together, including at the premiere of 'Sitaare Zameen Par'.
